Attention Bay Area Activists and Organizers: The New NLG Hotline System, 415-909-4NLG and 415-285-1011

The New NLG Hotline System

The San Francisco Bay Area NLG Demonstrations committee has a new phone system! After our hotline came under attack by members of the alt-right and fascist movement last fall, we needed to upgrade our security to our phone lines. In September we limited the capacity of our legal support line - 415-285-1011 - to only take calls from local jails. Other incoming calls will not connect but sound like the caller gets a busy signal. That will remain the same.

Uphold Human Rights in the Phillipines!

May 9, 2018

The National Lawyers Guild San Francisco Bay Area Chapter continues to work for justice for the Phillipines.

In conjunction with Stop the Killings: People's Caravan for Peace and Justice in the Philippines national tour, the International Coalition for Human Rights in the Philippines (ICHRP) Bay Area coalition, will be hosting a day of human rights activities in solidarity with the people of the Philippines.

No on Prop H!

NLGSF strongly opposes Proposition H on the June 2018 ballot in San Francisco. Proposition H is a dangerous initiative by the SF Police Officer's Association (POA) that will allow San Francisco police to use a Taser on someone who is unarmed and poses no immediate physical threat, or on someone who says no to a police order due to confusion or mental illness.

The POA has already spent more than $200,000 to push this ballot measure and has vowed to spend more than $500,000 by June. The grassroots No on H! campaign, on the other hand, has spent less than $20,000.
