Mentorship Committee
The Guild Mentorship Project
The Guild Mentorship Project was created to support progressive law students, promote new leadership within the Guild and develop lasting bonds among our members. We link law students, recent graduates, or legal workers with experienced Guild attorneys and legal workers. Mentors offer guidance and support for less experienced members and are encouraged to attend Guild events together and meet several times a year.
Only active members of the Bay Area Guild Chapter will be provided with a mentor. The duration of matches will be for one year from the date of assignment, unless the mentor and mentee expresses a desire to maintain their formal relationship for a longer period.
Recent graduates and new attorneys and legal workers can join the program through filling out an application. The student chapter representative at each law school will make the application form available at orientation information tables and the first chapter meeting of the semester.
Lawyers, Law Students and Legal Workers
Attorney mentors will be assigned to either a law student or recent law school graduate. Whenever possible, we connect Guild legal workers mentees with more experienced Guild legal workers mentors but if a legal worker mentor is not available, we will link the legal worker mentee with an attorney mentor.
